This is a strong dye and can be used several times giving slightly different tones and shades. With an Alum mordant red can be achieved, Tin will give Scarlet while Iron will give Purple.

An Alum mordant is required for protein fibres.

A tannin and Alum mordant are required for all cellulose fibres.

Not food safe, so please do not make a drink with this dye.
